Slovenian teen sensation Luka Doncic, currently playing for EuroLeague powerhouse Real Madrid, has submitted paperwork to declare for the 2018 NBA Draft, according to sources of Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Listed as a 6-foot-8 point guard, Doncic has a rare combination of size, athleticism, and technical skill that's evoked visions of superstardom.

The 19-year-old is expected to vie for the top overall selection in June's entry draft alongside American contenders such as Arizona's DeAndre Ayton and Duke's Marvin Bagley III. Unlike his stateside contemporaries, however, Doncic has already had the opportunity to hone his craft against true professionals in one of the world's top leagues.

In 52 appearances split between Spain's domestic league (Liga ACB) and the EuroLeague circuit, Doncic has averaged 21.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 46.5 percent from the field. He leads the league with four MVP of the Round awards - essentially player of the week honors.

Prior to the season, Doncic was also named the 2016-17 EuroLeague Rising Star as the best player under 22 years old. Other future NBA talents who've won that award include Ricky Rubio (2009-10), Nikola Mirotic (2010-11, 2011-12), and Bogdan Bogdanovic (2013-14, 2014-15).
