The ex-girlfriend of former Dallas Mavericks employee Earl Sneed said she notified the team of Sneed's abusive behavior in 2011 but never heard back, according to an in-depth story by Deadspin's Diana Moskovitz.

Sneed, who was also accused of assault by a different woman who worked with the Mavs, was fired by the team in February in the wake of a Sports Illustrated report that detailed a workplace culture rife with sexual harassment.

After the 2011 incident, he was arrested by the Dallas Police Department outside the Mavericks' headquarters. He told ESPN Dallas 103.3's "J Dub City" recently that this was shortly after former human resources vice president Buddy Pittman told him the woman contacted the team about the assault.

Sneed, who told ESPN he was defending himself from the woman, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and interference with emergency request. The charges were dismissed after he completed probation.

Pittman was fired by the Mavericks at the same time as Sneed. Former team CEO Terdema Ussery has been accused by multiple women of inappropriate behavior as well.

The Deadspin story also includes lurid reports of inappropriate activity inside the Mavericks' former headquarters, including an unnamed male employee watching pornography at his desk multiple times, and inappropriate and sexually suggestive remarks aimed at women's attire.

The Mavericks organization and owner Mark Cuban are under intense scrutiny in the wake of the scandal, with the team commissioning an investigation by law firm Krutoy Law. The NBA is conducting an investigation of its own into Cuban after a woman said he sexually assaulted her at a bar in 2011.
