Anthony Davis is an unstoppable force.

The New Orleans Pelicans All-Star big man dropped over 40 points for the fifth time this month, and Monday night at the Smoothie King Center marked his fourth 40-plus game in his last six outings.

In 39 minutes of action, Davis dropped a season-high 53 points (six short of his career-high 59 two years ago) on 16-of-29 shooting in a 125-116 win over the visiting Phoenix Suns. He also grabbed 18 rebounds, dished out three assists, and blocked five shots.

As a result of his spectacular line, Davis becomes the first player in the last 35 seasons to record five 40-point, 10-rebound games in a calendar month. He's also the second man (Bob McAdoo) to score over 50 points, grab over 15 boards, and block five or more shots since blocks started being recorded in 1973-74.

This marks the 12th time in 2017-18 where a player has reached the 50-point mark. James Harden has pulled it off on four occasions, while Bradley Beal, DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, and Lou Williams have all done it once.

Davis' stretch of dominance has coincided with a six-game winning streak for the Pelicans, who are now fifth in the Western Conference with a 34-26 record.
