Joe Johnson has committed to signing with the Houston Rockets, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski - who also reports that Johnson's buyout from the Sacramento Kings was completed Saturday.

Johnson was acquired by Sacramento from the Utah Jazz in a three-team trade that also sent George Hill and Rodney Hood to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.

The 36-year-old Johnson remains an attractive asset for a contending team looking for a proven playoff performer. While his overall productivity has decreased, Johnson is still capable of playing effective minutes as a small-ball four in coach Mike D'Antoni's system.

Houston will waive guard Bobby Brown to make room for Johnson, sources told Wojnarowski.
