Report: Bulls, Thunder have discussed deal involving Tony Allen

With Andre Roberson ruled out for the remainder of the season with a ruptured left patellar tendon, the Oklahoma City Thunder are scouring the league to find a defensive wing to fill the void left in the lineup.

Already linked to Los Angeles Clippers guard Avery Bradley, the Thunder have also reportedly had talks with the Chicago Bulls concerning Tony Allen's expiring contract, league sources told The Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson.

Allen was recently acquired by Chicago, along with veteran guard Jameer Nelson, Omer Asik, and a protected first-round draft pick, from the New Orleans Pelicans in a package for Nikola Mirotic.

He has yet to join the team, and will be waived if the team can't find a suitor for him on the trade market prior to Thursday's deadline.

The 36-year-old has made three All-Defensive First Teams and another three All-Defensive Second Teams across his 14 seasons in the Association.

Allen has been out of action since Dec. 10 after suffering a non-displaced left proximal fibula fracture. Allen's original recovery time was set at three-to-four weeks, but a setback resulted in him being ruled out an extra two-to-four weeks.

He's working under an inexpensive one-year, $2.1-million contract he inked with the Pelicans in September, and averaged 4.7 points and 2.1 rebounds across 22 appearances while in The Big Easy.
