The Brooklyn Nets have been granted a $6-million disabled player exception for losing point guard Jeremy Lin, sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
The Nets lost Lin in the season opener against the Indiana Pacers when he landed awkwardly after a layup. They announced after the game that he ruptured his patellar tendon, likely ending his season.
Lin has a $12.5-million player option for next season.
