As expected, Dion Waiters has reportedly put an end to his season.
The Miami Heat guard has elected to undergo season-ending surgery on his left ankle, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania. Waiters has had trouble with his ankle since March, and missed time at the end of last season.
He's also struggled to match the production that netted him a four-year, $52-million deal in the summer. Waiters averaged 14.3 points and 3.8 assists on 39.8 percent shooting through 30 games this season.
He hasn't played since Dec. 22 in a win against the Dallas Mavericks. The Heat have gone 7-2 since then.
