The Los Angeles Clippers may be looking to lock up their leading scorer.

Lou Williams and the Clippers have engaged in discussions over a contract extension, although no deal has materialized, sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

The 31-year-old guard dropped a career-high 50 points Wednesday night as his team knocked off the injury-riddled Golden State Warriors by 19 points at Oracle Arena.

Eligible to ink an extension during the regular season, Williams was asked following his supernova-esque performance about the possibility of being moved prior to February's trade deadline.

"Honestly, I would hope not. I'm putting my heart and soul into this basketball team with all the injuries that we've had and for us to still have an opportunity to be competitive," he said, according to Clutch Points' Tomer Azarly. "I would like to find a home here. I'm starting to bond with these guys. So hopefully this is where I am at the end of the year."

The Clippers acquired Williams as part of a package from the Houston Rockets in exchange for Chris Paul. He leads the team in scoring primarily as a reserve, averaging 22.9 points on 45 percent shooting and 41.2 percent from deep, along with 4.9 assists and 2.6 boards in 31.5 minutes per contest.

He's locked in for this season at $7 million, and will become an unrestricted free agent this summer barring an extension.
