If Stephen Curry gets his way, the two-time NBA MVP could soon add "NFL owner" to his lengthy resume.

The Golden State Warriors star wasn't messing around when he tweeted to Diddy last Sunday that he was interested in joining a group to make a bid to buy the NFL's Carolina Panthers.

"I'm really serious about that. I think it's such a unique opportunity to impact my hometown," Curry told ESPN's Rachel Nichols. "It's kind of unprecedented, and a very unique situation. Knowing of what the storylines are around the NFL right now, maybe having a hand in that.

"So, we'll see how that plays out and take whoever along to ride with me. Whoever wants to come watch Cam (Newton) and everybody, hopefully win Super Bowls."

Current Panthers owner Jerry Richardson recently announced he was putting the franchise up for sale at the end of the 2017 season following sexual and racial misconduct allegations.

Curry grew up in Charlotte, N.C., while his father competed for the Charlotte Hornets. The 29-year-old guard also played high school (Charlotte Christian) and college (Davidson) ball in the area.

In September, Forbes calculated the Panthers' value at approximately $2.3 billion.
