The Los Angeles Lakers' man in the middle will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Center Brook Lopez was diagnosed with a moderate right ankle sprain after undergoing an MRI on Tuesday. He'll be re-evaluated in three weeks.

Lopez injured his ankle while challenging a shot during the second quarter of Monday's matchup with the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center.

Lakers head coach Luke Walton told reporters Tuesday that Lopez is "upset," and that he didn't get a ton of sleep, according to Clutch Points' Ryan Ward.

The 7-footer has had issues with his right foot in the past, having gone under the knife multiple times, including a procedure to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal while with the Brooklyn Nets in 2014.

He ranks fifth on the Lakers in scoring (12.8 points) and first in rejections (1.6).
