Philadelphia 76ers small forward Robert Covington suffered a lower back contusion when he took a hard spill into the courtside seats while saving a loose ball late in Saturday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The diagnosis should register as good news for Covington and the Sixers, given that the swingman stayed prone on the ground for several minutes before having to be helped to the locker room.

Covington will travel with the team to New Orleans for Sunday's game against the Pelicans, but his status for the game is undetermined, according to CSN's Jessica Camerato.

Before suffering the injury, Covington was the Sixers' best player on Saturday, collecting 19 points (on 7-of-10 shooting), six rebounds, two assists, and four steals in 36 minutes, with a team-high plus-10 rating. Unfortunately, the Sixers got outscored by 17 in the 12 minutes he wasn't on the floor and lost to the Cavs 105-98.
