The Los Angeles Clippers' victory Monday night at Staples Center came with the fear that they may have lost their star forward in the process.

Blake Griffin left in the fourth quarter of the Clippers' eventual 120-115 win over the Los Angeles Lakers with an apparent left knee injury.

As Griffin was going for a loose ball, teammate Austin Rivers appeared to trip and land on his leg.

Griffin checked out immediately afterward and went to the Clippers' locker room.

As for the extent of the injury, the team considers it "too early to tell," according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"It didn't look good obviously ... what can you do," head coach Doc Rivers said, while adding that Griffin was "down" afterward, according to Sports Illustrated's Ben Golliver.

Griffin finished with 26 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in 36 minutes of action, as the Clippers improved to 8-11 on the season.

The 28-year-old has undergone multiple surgeries on that same knee. He has a well-documented injury history, not playing in more than 67 games in a season since 2013-14.
