New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis left Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets in the third quarter after he and Nikola Jokic collided heads with one another.

After being sent to the locker room for additional testing, Davis was diagnosed with a concussion, the team announced and he did not return to the game. It's the third time in his career that Davis has suffered a concussion.

With 11 minutes still to play in the third, Jokic attempted to back down on Davis from the three-point line, though the Nuggets center caught Davis' head as he moved to spin away, turning the ball over on the offensive foul. Davis immediately fell to the ground clutching his face and looked to be in considerable discomfort as his teammates helped him up.

The Pelicans power forward finished the night with 17 points on 7-for-11 shooting to go with five rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 21 minutes.
