Ben Simmons says he's learned more in NBA than at LSU
Ben Simmons has a favorite punching bag: College basketball.
The NCAA's idiosyncrasies were a prominent theme in Simmons' documentary "One and Done," and he continued knocking its contentious structure on a recent Uninterrupted interview with Maverick Carter.
"Looking at it now, I don't even know what I learned financially or just being a person at LSU," Simmons said of his one season in Baton Rouge. "I think I've learned a lot more with this last year being in Philly and being a pro than I did at LSU."
In his documentary, Simmons eviscerated the NCAA for making hundreds of millions of dollars off players without paying them.
"The NCAA is really f----d up," he said.
He explained to Carter that the demands on a highly-visible college star are similar to that of a pro, without payment.
"When they started asking more of me, like more photos shoots and meeting with them and things I had to do throughout the day," he said. "I'd have class and then I would go lift, have practice, then 'Oh Ben, you have to stay and do media and the photo shoot.' I would be kind of annoyed, like 'What am I getting out of this?'"
