NBA roster survey: Tony Snell most average-sized player
Just call Tony Snell "Mr. Average."
The Milwaukee Bucks swingman most closely represents the average NBA player in terms of height and weight, according to the annual NBA Roster Survey put out by the league.
According to the survey, the average league height is 6-foot-7.23 inches, with an average weight of 220.45 pounds. Snell comes in at 6-7, 221.
Other nuggets in the survey include average NBA age (26.56 years) and experience (4.77 seasons). On the age front, this is the first time in league history that three 40-year-olds (Vince Carter, Manu Ginobili, and Jason Terry) have been on opening-night rosters. The oldest team in the NBA, meanwhile, is the Cleveland Cavaliers (average age of 30.3 years).
In addition, a fairly high 38 percent of players on opening-night rosters have G League experience, and, not surprisingly, Kentucky leads the way as the most prolific NCAA alma mater (25 active players).
