MRI on Draymond's knee comes back clean

The Golden State Warriors can exhale, as the MRI on Draymond Green's strained left knee revealed no structural damage, the team announced.

Green, who suffered the injury in the third quarter of Golden State's opening-night loss to the Houston Rockets, may still need to miss some time, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury. He's traveling with the Warriors on their current three-game road trip, but is considered doubtful for Friday's game against the Pelicans in New Orleans.

The two-time All-NBAer and reigning Defensive Player of the Year made his impact felt in the first game of the 2017-18 season, stuffing the stat sheet with nine points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists before coming down awkwardly on a drive late in the third quarter.

The Warriors led by 13 points after three frames, but they fell apart without Green in the fourth. Their offensive flow went stagnant, their defensive precision and rim protection evaporated, and they got handed an improbable season-opening loss.
