A photo of NBA legend Bill Russell has surfaced on social media in what appears to be a gesture of support for those who protest during "The Star-Spangled Banner."
The picture is likely in response to Donald Trump's recent criticism of NFL players who kneel during the national anthem.
The 11-time NBA champion was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama in 2011.
