Alan Williams is set to miss the majority of the upcoming season.

The Phoenix Suns big man underwent surgery Monday on his right knee and is expected to be sidelined for roughly six months - until about late March.

Williams, 24, re-signed with the Suns this summer on a three-year deal reportedly worth $17 million. He averaged a near double-double following last season's All-Star break, with 11.4 points and 9.1 rebounds in 22.6 minutes per game.

Alex Len figures to see more time behind Tyson Chandler at the five-spot with Williams out.
