Kerr believes Warriors will be 'better this year'

Having watched his team win championships in two of the past three seasons, it's not difficult to see why Steve Kerr has tremendous confidence in the Golden State Warriors.

With several new faces joining last year's title-winning squad, the Warriors bench boss believes Golden State has a chance to be even better in 2017-18.

"The foundation is already there," Kerr told Mark Medina of Mercury News. "I think we’ll be better this year. We’re deeper."

After retaining their core early in the offseason, the Warriors turned their attention to improving the team's secondary scoring, signing veterans Nick Young and Omri Casspi to one-year contracts.

While Kerr may be expecting big things from his players, Kevin Durant says he and his teammates aren't focused on besting last season's dominant run.

"We know we’re not thinking about being better than last year at all," Durant said. "It’s a new season. It’s come in, work hard from day one, man, and see where it takes us."

Golden State's season will tip off Oct. 17 against the Houston Rockets at Oracle Arena.
