Report: Bogut drawing interest from 4 teams

Free-agent center Andrew Bogut is on the mend after fracturing his left tibia just one minute into his short-lived Cavaliers tenure last season - and he's apparently drawing interest from several teams with playoff aspirations.

Four teams are reportedly interested in Bogut: the Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz, and Milwaukee Bucks, sources told The Daily Telegraph's Matt Logue.

Each team boasts an Australian national on their roster - Aron Baynes in Boston, Patty Mills in San Antonio, Joe Ingles and Dante Exum in Utah, and Matthew Dellavedova and Thon Maker in Milwaukee.

But beyond the Down Under connections, each team has other reasons to take a shot on the 32-year-old veteran.

The Spurs have been a refuge for declining big men in recent years, including Pau Gasol, David West, and David Lee, and the organization usually ranks among the league leaders in international players. The Jazz also rank among the top destinations for international players, and Bogut starred at Utah from 2003-05. Bogut played his first seven seasons with the Bucks after being drafted No. 1 overall in 2005.

Most intriguing, however, are the Celtics, who struggled mightily with rebounding last season. Al Horford often played out of position as an undersized center, so adding an interior defender with a proven acumen for pounding the glass like Bogut would serve as a fitting complementary piece, even if it's just for short spurts off the bench.

Bogut has averaged 10 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.6 blocks in his career. He's also missed 277 out of 722 possible regular-season games since the start of the 2008-09 season, and hasn't averaged more than 27 minutes since 2010-11, so expectations should be held in check until Bogut proves he can stay on the court.
