Cameron Payne will be out of commission longer than expected.

The Chicago Bulls announced Friday that Payne underwent surgery on his right foot Wednesday, and is expected to make a full return in three-to-four months.

It was reported last week Payne would miss only a month of the regular season, but Chicago's timeline would see him return to action in December or January.

The Bulls acquired the 23-year-old point guard ahead of last season's trade deadline from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott.

Payne disappointed in the Windy City, putting up 4.9 points, 1.5 boards, and 1.4 assists in 12.9 minutes per game while shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from deep.
