Music mogul Jay-Z dropped a huge assist to Big Baller Brand in his latest interview on the Rap Radar podcast.

Jay-Z revealed that he bought three pairs of the signature Lonzo Ball sneakers worth $495 per pair and voiced his support for independent businesses that operate without help from existing industry structures.

In response, Ball thanked Jay-Z and promised the shoe order will come in around November.

"All I got to say is thank you. I appreciate it," Ball told TMZ Sports, before dodging further questions about the business side of BBB.

Jay-Z used BBB as an analogy during his podcast appearance to illustrate his larger point about challenging institutions that look to profit off the characters responsible for advancing culture.

"LaVar Ball, he said, 'I’m gonna start my own company.' Everybody’s like, ‘You should sign to Nike.’ He may go about things wrong. He may have a big mouth," Jay-Z said.

"But I bought three pair. I didn’t get ‘em. But that man has a vision of his own. Why wouldn’t I support him? Why wouldn’t I support him? He feels like he can move culture and his son got a big enough name and a big enough brand that they can do it. Nike had to start somewhere.

"Why do we get so upset when we, as a culture, want to start our own s---? That s--- is puzzling to me. I sit back and I’m like, this makes no sense. Why can’t he start a sneaker?"
