Report: Bucks offering Middleton, Brogdon for Kyrie if Celtics trade vetoed
The Milwaukee Bucks apparently have a big offer on the table to land their potential point guard of the future - unless he's already heading to Boston.
Should the Cleveland Cavaliers renege on their deal with the Celtics, the Bucks are willing to surrender Malcolm Brogdon and Khris Middleton in exchange for Kyrie Irving, sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe. Lowe added he expects Milwaukee to add a first-round pick if needed to complete a deal, or should Irving show interest in staying with the organization long term.
Brogdon is coming off a Rookie of the Year campaign where he posted averages of 10.2 points, 4.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals on 45.7 percent shooting. After missing almost the entire first half of the season with a hamstring injury, Middleton put up solid numbers following the All-Star break, averaging 15.4 points and 4.6 rebounds in 25 contests.
Concerns surrounding Isaiah Thomas' right hip have led the Cavaliers to seek additional compensation from the Celtics following last week's blockbuster trade. While there is reportedly uncertainty within the Cavaliers organization regarding when - or if - Thomas will play this season, the 5-foot-9 point guard stated Tuesday that he'll "be the same player" upon returning.
Cleveland and Boston have until Thursday to finalize a deal.
