Draymond Green issues statement about pending lawsuit

USA Today Sports

Draymond Green hopes to set the record straight.

The Golden State Warriors' big man released a statement via ESPN's Marc J. Spears on Tuesday addressing assault allegations brought forth by fellow Michigan State alum Jermaine Edmondson and girlfriend Bianca Williams in a pending lawsuit.

This lawsuit relates to an incident that occurred in East Lansing, Michigan over a year ago, for which Draymond paid a noise violation fine. Draymond looks forward to defending himself and clearing up the misinformation put forth today.

Green and two of his associates are accused of choking Edmondson and Williams in East Lansing, Mich., in an altercation last summer.

Green, who was an NBA champion in 2015 and 2017 as a member of the Warriors, has earned a reputation for his cantankerous on-court behavior and boisterous personality off the court.
