Retiring as a member of the Boston Celtics, Paul Pierce decided to bring a memento of his uneventful tenure with the Brooklyn Nets along for his one-day signing to have a little fun.

While working out at the team's practice facility in Waltham, Mass., The Troll (Truth) made it a point of emphasis to show general manager Danny Ainge the Nets shorts he was wearing underneath his Celtics gear.

"Hey Danny, see this?'" asked the 39-year-old, according to ESPN's Jackie MacMullan. "This is where you sent me!"

After spending the first 15 years of his career in Beantown, Pierce, along with fellow veterans Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry, was sent packing to Brooklyn in 2013 for five players and three future draft picks - one of which turned into recent No. 1 overall selection Markelle Fultz.

Pierce also played for the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers, but considers himself a "Celtic for life," and is happy to be bookending his career where it all began.
