Rudy Gay is ready to win a championship. Not only did he part ways with Sacramento and leave money on the table for a better shot at the playoffs in San Antonio, but his rehab from a torn left Achilles tendon is apparently on track to have him ready for camp.

"I actually worked out today," Gay said to ESPN's Michael C. Wright. "I'm fully cleared to do everything. I'm fine now. The team, it has its own planning with me. But I'm ready to go. I'll definitely be ready by camp."

The Achilles injury limited Gay to 30 games last season after he went down in January. It was another frustrating campaign for the 31-year-old, who's averaged 18.4 points over the course of his career but has only seen playoff action once - with the Grizzlies in 2012. That's largely why Gay rejected $14.2 million in Sacramento for 2016-17 to instead make $8.4 million with the Spurs.

"Looking at my career, it's just time to win," the 11-year veteran said. "That's what it's mostly about. I've been in this league for a little while now, and I haven't gotten out of my career what I anted. Coming to a place like San Antonio, it just seemed perfect for me."
