The Los Angeles Lakers met with unrestricted free agents Rajon Rondo and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on Tuesday as the club continues to look for backcourt help, according to reports from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst.
Having been waived by the Bulls last month, Rondo is one of the few starting point guards who has failed to land a new contract. The 31-year-old is coming off an up-and-down year with Chicago, averaging 7.8 points, 6.7 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 69 contests.
Caldwell-Pope became an unrestricted free agent last week after the Detroit Pistons pulled his qualifying offer. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard averaged 13.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, while shooting 35 percent from deep this past season.
The Lakers have been linked to several big names this offseason, but have yet to land an unrestricted free agent to date.
