The New York Knicks have signed swingman Tim Hardaway Jr. to a reported four-year, $71-million contract, the team announced Saturday.

The Atlanta Hawks had the option to match the offer, but ultimately chose to pass. The Hawks were reportedly willing to offer Hardaway Jr. a four-year, $48-million deal before the Knicks swooped in.

Hardaway was a member of the Knicks from 2013-15 before he was traded to Atlanta in a deal that netted New York the draft rights to Jerian Grant.

The 25-year-old averaged 14.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.7 steals on 45.5 percent shooting this past season.
