Report: P.J. Tucker agrees to 4-year, $32M contract with Rockets

The Houston Rockets have reached an agreement to sign free-agent forward P.J. Tucker, sources told Shams Charania of The Vertical.

He will earn $32 million over the next four seasons, Charania adds.

The 32-year-old split time between the Phoenix Suns and the Toronto Raptors last season. For both teams, Tucker served as a low-usage wing who primarily focused on playing shutdown defense against every position except centers.

That being said, Tucker is a a limited offensive player who primarily feasts off open corner threes and the occasional offensive rebound. The six-year veteran hit 35.7 percent from deep last season which is right in-line with his career average.

Houston likely moved onto Tucker after their first option, Andre Iguodala, re-signed with the Golden State Warriors.
