The Philadelphia 76ers announced Friday that the team has waived veteran shooting guard Gerald Henderson.
Henderson, 29, would have earned $9 million in salary for the 2017-18 season had he not been waived before midnight Friday. Instead, the eight-year veteran will still retain $1 million in guaranteed salary, but enter free agency on Saturday as an unrestricted free agent.
Henderson averaged 9.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game in his lone season in Philadelphia.
