The Portland Trail Blazers have dealt guard Tim Quarterman to the Houston Rockets for cash.

"We thank Tim for his contributions to the team and wish him all the best for the future," said Blazers president Neil Olshey in an official statement.

Quarterman went undrafted in 2016 before eventually signing with Portland later that summer following a stint with the Charlotte Hornets' summer league team.

He made 16 appearances during the regular season, averaging just 1.9 points in 80 total minutes.

This move comes on the heels of the Rockets making a more monumental trade in the form of acquiring All-Star point guard Chris Paul from the Los Angeles Clippers.

In fact, Houston is reportedly gathering non-guaranteed contracts to possibly utilize in the Paul deal, which explains the Quarterman trade.
