Dudley says he has no-trade clause after report of Pelicans interest

Phoenix Suns forward Jared Dudley says he'll have the last word on whether or not he ends up playing in the desert next season.

Amid a flurry of activity and rumors in the lead-up to Thursday's NBA draft, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 radio reported that the Suns had spoken to the New Orleans Pelicans about potentially exchanging Dudley for second-round draft picks.

Dudley was quick to quell the speculation, with a surprising revelation.

The 31-year-old signed on for a second go-round with the Suns last summer with a three-year, $30-million deal - the largest contract of his career.

His desire for a no-trade is understandable, given that he'd played for four teams in the four seasons before returning to Phoenix.

In 64 games last year, Dudley averaged 6.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, while shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from 3-point range.
