Just as Ice Cube is prone to messing around and recording triple-doubles on the basketball court, it appears he's also prone to leaking big news.

As a founder of the new BIG3 three-on-three league, the rapper/actor has rubbed shoulders with some pretty high-profile former NBA players. Now, it appears he may have accidentally broken news that Chauncey Billups will become the Cleveland Cavaliers' next front-office executive, according to a video recorded by TMZ.

In the clip, the interviewer asked Ice Cub which team he's favoring to win the inaugural BIG3 championship, to which he responded: "It was Killer 3s for a minute, but since Chauncey took that job, it might change."

It's not immediately clear whether Ice Cube's assertion is rooted in inside knowledge or merely expectation, as neither the Cavs nor Billups - who's set to captain the Killer 3s this summer - have confirmed any agreement to date. The Associated Press' Tom Withers added that nothing is official yet.

After the Cavaliers declined to extend the contract of GM David Griffin this week, Billups' name immediately surfaced as a leading candidate for the front office. The former player met with team ownership on Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday.

The Killer 3s squad - which begins play June 25 in Brooklyn - also features NBA vets Stephen Jackson, Charles Oakley, Larry Hughes, Reggie Evans, and Brian Cook. Billups additionally signed a three-year extension this spring to remain an on-air analyst with ESPN.
