Dallas Mavericks icon Dirk Nowitzki chimed in on what route the franchise may take June 22 in the upcoming NBA Draft.

"(The team would) love to have a point guard," Nowitzki said at Mavericks youth camp Monday, according to Earl Sneed of Mavs.com. "I think that's not a secret."

Dallas holds the ninth overall pick in the draft, and Nowitzki's statement couldn't be more spot on. Last year's Mavervicks finished 33-49, while rotating between point guards J.J. Barea, Yogi Ferrell, Seth Curry, and Devin Harris.

With Nowitzki's career coming to a close and Dallas' guard situation being anything but stable, choosing a guard at the nine spot seems to make a lot of sense.

Two names the Mavs may consider are Dennis Smith Jr. (NC State) and Frank Ntilikina (France).
