The Philadelphia 76ers took French forward Mathias Lessort with the No. 50 pick in the NBA Draft Thursday night.
Lessort, who turns 22 in September, spent this past season with Pro A club Nanterre, averaging 10.3 points and 7.3 rebounds. A bruising 6-foot-9 big with a 250-pound frame and 7-foot-1 wingspan, Lessort makes for an intriguing NBA prospect.
While he lacks shooting range, his game could fit small-ball lineups as a center should he continue to develop. He's a former teammate of a similar player in that regard, Clint Capela.
