Warriors owner wants Cavs again: 'We have some unfinished business'

The Cavaliers have yet to finish off the Boston Celtics, but the owner of the Finals-bound Golden State Warriors has already made it clear he wants another piece of Cleveland.

"I don't care who we play, but my preference is Cleveland. We have some unfinished business," Joe Lacob said after his team completed a Western Conference finals sweep of the San Antonio Spurs, according to The Undefeated's Marc Spears.

"We were the better team, but they did win," Lacob added, in reference to the 2016 Finals, according to the Mercury News' Marcus Thompson. "We need a chance to go in there and prove that."

While beating the Cavs with a new-look team now featuring Kevin Durant will do nothing to prove 2016 superiority, taking the Larry O'Brien Trophy back from the team that snatched it from Golden State last year would certainly help Lacob and Co. get over the pain of blowing a 3-1 series lead to LeBron James' Cavaliers.

This isn't the first time Lacob's bombastic ways have raised eyebrows, as the venture capitalist famously declared the Warriors were "light-years ahead" of their competition in virtually every facet of their organization in a 2016 New York Times feature.

Whatever happens between the Cavaliers and Celtics, the Warriors will get their chance to prove they're light-years ahead of Eastern Conference competition when the NBA Finals tip off at Oracle Arena on June 1.
