As expected, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich confirmed that Kawhi Leonard will not play for the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals Monday night.
Popovich said Sunday that his franchise player was unlikely to go. Leonard hasn't played since injuring his left ankle on a controversial closeout by Zaza Pachulia in Game 1 of the series against the Golden State Warriors.
With the Spurs trailing 3-0 and on the brink of elimination Monday, Leonard's season is probably finished. The NBA MVP finalist averaged 27.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in the postseason.
