Klay says fan's 'magic' toaster might be responsible for Warriors' success

The Golden State Warriors have been damn near unbeatable since the signing.

No, not the Kevin Durant signing in free agency.

The club has accumulated a 26-1 record since Klay Thompson autographed a fan's toaster in March.

Klay Thompson looks intensely into a toaster.

Thompson suggested the timing of the toaster signing and the team's dominant stretch may not be a coincidence.

"That might be the magic toaster. You never know," he told The Wall Street Journal's Ben Cohen after Game 2's triumph.

The 27-year-old also gave a shout-out to the owner of the toaster.

"That guy is responsible for 25 out of 26 wins. … Shoot, let's keep it going."

The run spans the last bit of the regular season and every playoff game so far. The only loss the team's suffered since Thompson signed the appliance, which imprints the Dubs logo onto slices of bread, came when the All-Star shooting guard rested versus the Utah Jazz on April 11.

With Saturday's Game 3 victory in the West Finals over the San Antonio Spurs, the Warriors are 11-0 in the postseason. In other words, they're undefeated in the Toaster Era.

If Golden State ends up winning the title, that thing belongs in the Hall of Fame.
