Report: Knicks interested in hiring Prigioni as assistant coach

The New York Knicks are reportedly considering adding a familiar face to the end of their bench.

The Knicks are interested in hiring recently retired point guard Pablo Prigioni as an assistant coach, Spanish outlet Gigantes reports, as translated by Sportando.

Prigioni played nearly two decades professionally in the Argentine and Spanish leagues before the Knicks signed him in 2012 at the age of 35, making him the oldest rookie in NBA history. He went on to play parts of three seasons with the Knicks, before being traded to the Houston Rockets and finishing his brief NBA run with the Los Angeles Clippers.

New York was his most successful stop. In 187 games with the Knicks, Prigioni averaged 3.9 points, 2.8 assists, and one steal, while shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from 3-point range.
