Celtics' Thomas fined $25K for incident with Wizards fan

Celtics All-Star Isaiah Thomas has been fined $25,000 for directing inappropriate language toward a Verizon Center fan during Boston's Game 3 loss to the Washington Wizards, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Kiki VanDeWeghe announced Wednesday.

At some point during last Thursday's Game 3, near the visitors' bench, Thomas appeared to respond to a heckling fan by saying, "I will f--- you up, and you know that," and suggesting the heckler make Thomas come up to th seat to settle the score.

Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinal tips off Wednesday night in Boston, with the second-round series tied 2-2.

Thomas' teammate Marcus Smart has already been fined $25,000 this postseason for flipping off a fan, and Houston Rockets point guard Patrick Beverley was fined the same amount in the first round for a verbal confrontation with the son of an Oklahoma City Thunder minority owner.
