Westbrook, George named Players of the Week

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook and Indiana Pacers small forward Paul George have been named the NBA Players of the Week for the period April 3-9.

The week saw Westbrook tie and then surpass Oscar Robertson's 55-year-old record for most triple-doubles in a season with 42. The superstar beat the final buzzer with a game-winning three to lift his squad to a 106-105 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, registering 50 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 dimes. He averaged 32.5 points, 12.5 boards, and 10.3 assists over four games.

Meanwhile in the Eastern Conference, George led the way with 31.7 points per game while shooting 57.4 percent as his Pacers went undefeated in three contests and climbed to seventh place in the standings. His week was highlighted by an 18-point third quarter that helped his club overcome a deficit in a 108-90 win over the Toronto Raptors. He finished with a double-double of 35 points and 10 boards in Tuesday's win.
