It finally happened.
The New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement on a trade that would send DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi to the Big Easy, reports Adrian Wojnarowki of The Vertical.
The Pelicans will send out 2016 No. 6 pick Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway, the expiring contract of Tyreke Evans, a top-three protected 2017 first-round pick, and a 2017 second-rounder, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Galloway will be waived once the deal is through, Wojnarowski adds.
It was only a month ago when reports out of Sacramento suggested that the franchise would offer Cousins a $200-million extension this summer. Only two days ago, Cousins declared that he was happy with his situation, and that he wanted to be in Sacramento for a long time.
Now the mercurial center will line up alongside fellow Kentucky big man Anthony Davis to form the most formidable frontcourt in the league.
