Lowry sounds off after another Raps meltdown: 'Something gotta change'

The Toronto Raptors are reaching their wits' end after blowing a 16-point fourth quarter lead to the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.

All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry tore into his club when addressing reporters following their 13th loss in their last 23 games.

"(We're) being put in the same situations over and over and we're not being successful. Something's gotta give, something gotta change," Lowry said.

When asked about what changes Lowry wanted to see, he wisely pleaded the fifth.

"I have an idea but I'll keep my mouth shut, keep it very professional."

The Raptors shot themselves in the foot by playing foolish offense and absent defense which culminated in yet another collapse to a sub-.500 team. Sunday's game saw the Raptors repeatedly run basic plays for DeMar DeRozan to little effect down the stretch, while their defense allowed a Pistons side led by Ish Smith to shoot 59 percent in the final frame.

The game-winning shot for Detroit saw Kentavious Caldwell-Pope all alone in the corner to drill a three for a one-point lead. The Raptors promptly called timeout to set up an isolation for DeRozan that rimmed out in the face of tough defense by Marcus Morris.

Lowry added that he wasn't just reacting to a bad loss. Toronto has been in a two-month funk since their brilliant 22-8 start.

"I'm starting to get worried. Yeah. It's not going the way it's supposed to be going and things aren't changing so yeah, I'm starting to get worried," he said.
