Nuggets' Emmanuel Mudiay: Ruled out Friday vs. Knicks

Mudiay (back) indicated that he won't play Friday against the Knicks, Chris Dempsey of The Denver Post reports. Mudiay said, "That I don't know. You won't see me the next game, I know that, but I'm attacking the rehab. It's back spasms. It's my first time, that's why I don't know how to handle it."

Analysis:

Muiday will be sidelined for the third straight game and the eighth time in 11 games with lower-back spasms, and wasn't willing to put a timetable on his return, other than ruling himself out Friday. It sounds as though the Nuggets will continue to evaluate Mudiay on a game-to-game basis, but since the point guard has yet to resume practicing, it wouldn't be surprising if he was held out for the final game of the Nuggets' road trip Saturday against the Cavaliers. Look for Jameer Nelson to continue starting at point guard while routinely clearing 30 minutes for as long as Mudiay is sidelined.
