The Philadelphia 76ers were at the mercy of center Hassan Whiteside early against the Miami Heat on Saturday night, as the 7-foot leviathan got whatever he wanted around the basket with little resistance from the opposition.
At the end of the first quarter, Whiteside had already notched his 31st double-double of the 2016-17 campaign with 17 points (8-of-10 shooting) and 11 rebounds, along with two rejections.
It was the highest-scoring quarter of the 27-year-old's career. His 17 points were also as many as Philly dropped the entire 12 minutes - Miami held a 32-17 lead at the end of the frame.
