The rumor mill is beginning to heat up with the NBA trade deadline just a couple months away.

Several teams have reached out to the Denver Nuggets to assess the availability of shooting guard Will Barton, with the Washington Wizards and New Orleans Pelicans among them, league sources tell ESPN's Chris Haynes.

The Wizards currently rank 29th in bench scoring, while the offensively-limited Pelicans could certainly use another proven scorer in their lineup, making the addition of Barton a plausible fit for both ball clubs.

Barton has emerged as a dependable offensive player during his time in the Mile High City, averaging 13.5 points over 126 games with Denver.

The 25-year-old has one year remaining on his contract after this season at just $3.5 million, giving any team who acquires him a cheap, but effective option off the bench.

Barton is averaging 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists on 42.5 percent shooting in 16 games for Denver in 2016-17.
