J.R. Smith day to day after MRI comes back clean
Justin Ford / USA TODAY Sports

It looks like J.R. Smith will be just fine after leaving Monday night's contest against the Toronto Raptors.

The Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard is expected to be day to day after an MRI on his left knee came back clean, the team announced Tuesday. Smith, whose injury is being called a hyperextension, will miss Wednesday's game against the New York Knicks.

Smith missed three games earlier this season with an ankle injury, with the Cavs going 2-1 in his absence.

The 31-year-old is in the midst of a poor season by his standards, averaging 7.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists on 34.4 percent from the field.
