Here is a look at the Squad Up daily NBA fantasy picture for Friday, December 2:

Dynamic Duos

  • C Clint Capela (61K) & PG Patrick Beverley (44K), Rockets (at Nuggets): The Rockets played a double overtime barn-burner at Golden State last night, but Capela and Beverley both managed to stay under 30 minutes of game time. With the rest of the starters each logging 42-plus minutes, expect Capela and Beverley to see an increased workload.
  • PF Anthony Davis (107K) & PG Jrue Holiday (67K), Pelicans (vs. Clippers): Davis and Holiday will maximize scoring, assists and rebounding without stepping on each other's toes. The Clippers played the Cavaliers just last night, and despite resting starters in the second half, might be in for a let-down. Holiday might be a little under-priced.
  • PF DeMarcus Cousins (105K) & PG Darren Collison (47K), Kings (at Celtics): Since making his season debut in the Kings' ninth game, 35.4 percent of Collison's passes have been to Cousins, accounting for 2.1 assists per game. Collison's low price brings the duo's average cap hit to just 76K.

Bargain Plays

  • SG Jamal Murray (38K), Nuggets (vs. Rockets): After averaging 21.3 points over four games, Murray's price has fallen after a pair of nine-point outings. He's still shooting 48.1 percent on 3-pointers over his last 10 games, so he maintains excellent tournament value potential against a tired Rockets team that has a suspect defense to begin with.
  • SF Sam Dekker (27K), Rockets (at Nuggets): Speaking of the Rockets, Dekker is coming off his highest and third-highest single-game minutes totals, averaging 10.5 points with 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in those two games. SF Trevor Ariza played 42 minutes last night while bench guard Eric Gordon played 38 minutes. It would be a shock if Dekker didn't continue to see an increased workload.
  • C Kosta Koufos (32K), Kings (at Celtics): At his price, Koufos is a safe cash-game lineup filler with a realistic shot at approaching a double-double. He has averaged 7.4 points and 6.0 rebounds in 22.3 minutes over his last five games -- and the Celtics have the worst team rebounding rate (47.3 percent) in the league.

Top Fades

  • PG James Harden (105K), Rockets (at Nuggets): Harden played 45 minutes last night, logging a 29-point, 15-rebound, 13-assist triple-double; that absurd line only amounted to 50/50 value because of his high price. Unless you think he can replicate that line -- at Denver's altitude, the night after a double-overtime performance -- stay clear of the beard.
  • C Jonas Valanciunas (59K), Raptors (vs. Lakers): The Lakers' rotation is a work in progress but injuries to the back court will leave the door open to big first halves by Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan (sorry, Jose Calderon). That will either mean that Valanciunas takes a back seat on offense, or the Raptors build a big enough lead to let the backups see extended run in the second half at JV's expense.
  • SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (53K), Pistons (at Hawks): Caldwell-Pope is the Pistons' best perimeter threat, hitting 38.1 percent of his 5.3 3-point attempts per game. Atlanta holds shooters to the fifth-lowest 3-point percentage in the league, just 33.6 percent. KCP's mid-tier price denotes a safe cash-game floor but he's unlikely to return significant value.

Contrarian Options

  • PG Chris Paul (88K), Clippers (at Pelicans): Like the Rockets, Paul is also playing his second game in as many nights after facing one of the best teams in the league. Unlike Harden, Paul played just 24 minutes. There's a chance that Doc Rivers still opts to give his point guard the night off, but after sitting out most of the second half, CP3 should be ready for his usual output.
  • C Joel Embiid (84K), 76ers (vs. Magic): As the second-most expensive center on the slate, fantasy players would likely prefer a player with an opportunity to log more than 25 minutes in a given night. Still, regardless of averaging 22.8 MPG this season, The Process is tallying 18.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per night. Believe in Embiid.
  • PF Ersan Ilyasova (48K), 76ers (vs. Magic): If Embiid is discounted because of his price and minutes cap, then his teammate Ilyasova is discounted because he's not Embiid. In his last five games, he's averaging 14 points and 8.4 rebounds. He's not the reason you seek out a 76ers-Magic game on League Pass, but he's been an effective floor-spacer and rebounder in the shadow of Embiid's runaway hype-train.
