The Sacramento Kings have reason to deal Rudy Gay this season, after the 30-year-old small forward told management he'll decline his 2017-18 player option to pursue free agency.
ESPN's Zach Lowe reported Thursday the Oklahoma City Thunder might be a landing spot for such a player, according to sources.
"They remain interested in bigger wings, including Rudy Gay, in part because such a player would slide everyone down to their intended spots," Lowe wrote.
Lowe was referring to Victor Oladipo - who would move to the sixth man role - and Andre Roberson, who would move back to defending shooting guards.
Gay is having an outstanding contract season, averaging a career-high 21.3 points per game, along with 6.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
