Rose expecting some boos upon Chicago return

While one hyped NBA reunion sees the Oklahoma City Thunder visit the Golden State Warriors Thursday, another one on Friday has Derrick Rose (and Joakim Noah) returning to Chicago as a member of the New York Knicks.

Rose isn't expecting a unanimous standing ovation, either.

"That would be a dream, but I know I'm going to get some boos here and there," Rose said, according to ESPN's Ian Begley. "It's all a part of the game ... It's not going to affect the way that I play and how bad I want to win that game."

Rose didn't really leave his hometown Bulls on bad terms, rather than get traded after injuries had cursed most of his previous five seasons. A Chicago hoops prodigy since childhood, he's still revered by many in the city and elsewhere - although his civil sexual assault case this past offseason didn't help his public image.

He said he holds nothing against the Bulls - who drafted Rose first overall in 2008 - for moving on from him.

"There's no bad blood there at all," Rose said. "I totally understand the business of this game ... I never felt that way about getting traded or me coming to this team. I always took it as a blessing that I had the opportunity to come in this (New York) market, this franchise, and to be able to create a culture here."
